    First Touch Ministry Team

    Our Mission
Create a great first impression for those visiting our church for the first time.  Each ministry contact at the church will be served with a friendly, warm and helpful greeting.

The first Touch Ministry Team is made up of the following ministries:  Watchmen (Security) Ministry, Usher Ministry, Greeter Ministry, Welcome Center, Resource Center and Fireside Cafe.  This team of volunteers was created to make a great first impression as our visitors and members arrive at Solid Rock Church.

    Greeter Ministry

This ministry oversees greeters in all of the following contact ministry areas:

Contact with newcomers. When you notice unknown guests, introduce yourself first, extend a welcome, and then ask for the visitors’ names. This is an important source of new members when properly followed up.
Take an interest in people. The congregation depends on the greeters to make their church personal. If you really care about people, they will be able to see it. Try to sense needs such as those who are confused about the location of children’s activities or need access to a rest room, etc. Be as helpful as you can.
Distribute materials. Your task as a greeter has more to do with relationships than mechanical aspects like handing out the church bulletin. At the same time bulletins are also important!

    Usher Ministry

The purpose of an usher is to represent Christ to all that come to worship at the church.  In a sense, they serve as the host of the building in which believers and strangers gather to seek God.  This purpose alone expresses the privilege and responsibility that falls to a church usher.

    Watchman (Security) Ministry

The Security Ministry are the "watchmen on the wall".  This ministry serves the church by providing the congregation a safe and secure place to worship. Members of the Security Team deal with the disorderly and disruptive. The team also assists congregants provided any assistance that is needed.

God has given the security team wisdom and grace to deal with some very difficult situations, as well as incredible boldness and compassion uniquely mingled.

    Fireside Cafe & Bookstore

The Fireside Cafe & Bookstore is a place where members and guests alike can come for a book, soup, sandwich, salad and fellowship.  It is a place where people can congregate in a relaxed atmosphere.  The cafe also provides a gift to our first time visitors.  Our guests receive a Service CD and a free drink of their choice.

    Welcome Center

This is the central information area about the church and it’s ministries.

It can also be a place where visitors can come for directions or information about special services or ministries.  The welcome center volunteers can also assign a greeter to a visitor to escort them to a class, the sanctuary or anywhere else them may be interested in visiting.
